Terms & Policies
The fine print — written to be read, not to hide things. Each section is the detail behind a plank of the Constitution.
1.Membership & vetting
You must be 18 or older and pass our signup verification to buy or sell. One account per person — no duplicates, no fake identities. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account. We can suspend or remove any account that breaks these rules.
2.Listing rules
List only what you own and have the legal right to sell. Describe it honestly: real photos from every side, every flaw disclosed, the right category, an accurate title. The listing is a promise — the item that shows up at pickup has to match it.
3.Prohibited & restricted items
You may not list anything illegal to sell or transfer, including: weapons, explosives, and ammunition; hazardous or recalled goods; counterfeits, replicas, or stolen property; drugs, THC/CBD, tobacco, vapes, and alcohol; prescription items and medical devices; sexually explicit material; gambling or lottery items; live animals; and human remains. Firearms may only change hands through a licensed FFL dealer with all legally required checks — never person-to-person at a pickup. We can pull any listing that creates a legal or safety risk, in any category.
4.Bidding integrity
Every bid is a binding commitment to buy at that price. No shill bidding — you may not bid on your own lots or arrange for anyone else to. A soft-close protects you: bids in the final minutes extend the clock, so nobody gets sniped at the buzzer. Sellers may set a hidden reserve. Bids can only be retracted in narrow cases (an obvious typo), at our discretion.
5.Payment & fees
Buyers pay through Reclaimed Market the moment an auction closes, and Reclaimed Market holds the funds until pickup. The buyer's premium is 5% + $1 per won lot, shown before you ever bid. Sellers keep 100% of the hammer price. Payment is due immediately at close — non-payment forfeits the item and can suspend your account.
6.Local pickup & inspection (this replaces “returns”)
The winner gets a pickup code and meets the seller at the agreed local spot and window. You inspect at pickup. If the item isn't as described, you decline right there and your held funds are released back to you — nothing to ship, nothing to chase. Once you accept the item (the code is confirmed), the sale is final and as-is. No-shows on either side are logged and affect your standing.
7.Buyer protection
You're protected because your money is held until you've seen the item in person. Covered: items that are not as described, damaged or defective beyond what was disclosed, counterfeit, or simply the wrong item. Not covered: changing your mind, condition that was clearly disclosed, or complaints after you've accepted the item at pickup.
8.Seller protection
You're protected from false claims and abusive buyers. If you described your item honestly and a buyer accepts it, the sale stands — a buyer can't take the item and then invent a problem. Describe it true and we have your back.
9.Ratings & reputation
After every completed deal, both sides rate each other. Ratings are tied to real transactions only — no buying, faking, or retaliating, and we remove abuse when we find it. Your reputation as a buyer and a seller is the currency of this market; guard it.
10.Disputes & enforcement
Because Reclaimed Market holds the funds, Reclaimed Market is the final arbiter. If there's a dispute, we review the listing, the photos, the messages, and both parties' history, and we decide — refund, release, or split. That decision is final. Breaking the rules earns a warning, a refund bill-back, suspension, or a permanent ban, depending on severity. Integrity violations — fraud, shill bidding, off-platform end-runs — are a one-strike door.
11.Off-platform ban
Once Reclaimed Market introduces a buyer and a seller, the deal happens on Reclaimed Market. Soliciting or completing a sale off-platform to dodge the fee is grounds for removal — it's also how people get scammed, which is the whole thing we exist to prevent.
12.Money & jurisdiction
All funds are processed and settle on American soil through U.S. payment partners. Reclaimed Market operates under U.S. law. (Arbitration, limitation of liability, and indemnification terms are provided in full at signup.)
13.Privacy & your data
We collect only what we need to run the market and keep it safe, and we never sell your data. Full detail lives in our Privacy Policy.
